This program leads us through a history of Eliot’s old stores, 1800-present. Perhaps not a comprehensive look, however, the presentation provides a wonderful overview of the stores for which we know the most about. Throughout its history, Eliot has had stores in some of the first homes of its residents and then later as stand-alone shops offering groceries, meats, and other provisions. The newly re-opened “MAINE MARKET” continues this long tradition. Join us for this wonderful walk through the past down the streets and through the shops of old Eliot, Maine.
